February 2006
19 February 2006 by: YervantMy good friend Bambi Cantrell flew over to Australia and together we did a 2 week seminar tour and a week long workshop in Melbourne.

The workshop had photographers from USA, Hong Kong, Singapore and from all around Australia attending, it was an very special week for all of us, we all shared so much.
My wife Anie, who is an expert in organizing events, put the whole thing together, and it was such an unforgettable experience for everyone. During the day, Bambi and I did our teaching, Anie had organised for 7 of my past brides and grooms to dress once again and be the models, these girls were easily recognised as I had used images from their weddings during my seminars or competitions, the buzz was great, the students benefited from watching the difference in Bambi’s and my work, our approach and then our Photoshop techniques, we then gave each student the opportunity to shoot and finish, we then got The Edge Phot lab to print a favourite image from each student and a couple from both Bambi and I, and John garner of Bookcraftst made individual 8â€x10†albums for everyone to take home, each person autographed each album and shared their thought of the experience.
Anie of course had done all the fun by organising each dinner to be a unique theme and event, we went to a Luxurious restaurant with incredible Melbourne by night views, enjoyed great food and wine and the evening was topped with live fireworks to celebrate Chinese New Year, right outside the spectacular view.

Pavarotti eat your heart out.

Jim Garner is HOT to party.

Mark Fitzgibbons is too HOT for the girls.

The group having fun on the streets of Melbourne.
Then an Italian night, then a Chinese night at some of the best in Melbourne, A Colonial Tram Car dinner ride throughout Melbourne by night was another awesome experince, we had top shelf wine and food with a very funny Maitre’D on board an old Melbourne Tram which has been converted to a Silver Class restaurant.

One of my past Brides, Belly Dancing for the group.

I am trying to outdo the Belly Dancer.

Jim is having fun with Bambi, Anie & the Girls.
An Egyptian Restaurant on Thursday had all of us dancing on the tables with a gorgeous belly dancer that was also a past bride and agreed to wear all white as a belly dancer bride for the night for our group. The most fun night was the farewell dinner at our house, we live in remote property where kangaroos run free, Anie had organised a very Australiana themed dinner complete with a Crocodile Dunddy/ Steve Erwin impersonator chef who cooked kangaroo meat, crocodile meat and of course shrimp on the Barbie, then an indigenous aboriginal entertainer appeared in the dark with his didgeridoo and entertained with dance and music.
The workshop was so well received as an overall experience that Anie has now decided that she will do 2 Exotic Location workshops per year where I will do the photography teaching etc and she will organise the vacation experience for all who attend.
The next one is in Santorini Greek Islands, we have not officially released the details yet but many of the photographers who attended the Melbourne workshop have already put their names down.
Then we are doing a Safari workshop in South Africa in November next year, where Anie has already asked David Cardinal to be the guest speaker, we will do a week in safari but for wedding photographers to do Bride shooting in the wild.
I will be doing another Australian workshop around September and we are contemplating whether we should do this in Sydney or in outback Australia, we want to give people a total experience with these workshops.
