New Studio
10 March 2007 by: YervantMelbourne’s ‘Docklands’ is a new city development.
It is the future ‘Melbourne City’ but this time, right on the bay with spectacular views.
The entire setting and architecture is very modern and quite avant-garde (which is exactly why the area appealed to us and we decided to buy a property to set up a studio.)
Our current address is in a ‘Hip’ part of Melbourne too, we moved there about a year ago while we kept looking for the ideal location to actually buy a property to set up our future studio and Docklands it is!!
We are very excited to be moving there, the premise has 10 large, tall modern windows which face the main road Harbourside Boulevard, it has high ceilings and is quite large, at the moment, it is just 4 walls, so we are now designing the interior set up, furnishing, colors etc…
I can see Anie spending and spending again!!!!
But, this is our dream studio and we really want to make it something very special and different from anything we have ever seen.
We put some posters up on the windows while we start work on the inside….
The area will host a Ferris Wheel close to the size of London’s, it has up market restaurants, bars, cafés, yep. Everything I like!!
Open space, interesting sculptures, a marina and boutique shopping.
It also houses Melbourne’s own motion picture studio (Where Ghost Rider was made).
Our plan is to make this studio into a Designer Art Gallery and move Wedding & Portrait Photography to the highest level.
PS. Next years Australian seminar will be in the NEW Studio and the surrounding.

I have an advice for you guys…
Patent the shop, the design, etc…. everybody will try to copy your studio…
Amazing place…great eye for oportunitys…
can’t wait to see what Anie and Yervant come up with…

We are now in Vegas for the WPPI and DWF conventions, when we get back, we start the planning and designing of the studio’s interior etc. At the moment, it is just an empty shell, we have to do all the walls and fitouts.
We plan to be in towards end of the year.

The place looks awesome already, can’t wait to see it in person. Always raising the bar, the way to be.
Thanks everyone, we can’t wait to move in, we have some new ideas to implement… all fun!! off to Greece in a few hours for our Santorini workshop, then another private workshop in Thessaloniki where about 25 greek photographers are gathering, then to the UK to do a 3 week tour with Joe Buissink.
And….. watch this space…. maybe….. Bob davis and Y seminar someday?????????????? :)

So much potential in the location you chose … good to see you’re both still growing and never settling for mediocrity.
