Australian Awards 2007
9 May 2007 by: YervantAIPP Wedding Album of the year 2007
The AIPP awards in Australia were a couple of days ago, I got news from my studio manager Laura that I won the Album of the Year 2007 award.
Of course I am thrilled, this same was also a finalist at WPPI (I got 2nd 3rd and 4th place with my albums at WPPI).
My pal Jerry Ghionis is either just behind me or just in front of me, he is my new shadow, wherever I turn, there he is!!
Congratulations Jerry for beating me at WPPI and now I beat you!!!
I just want to say that these two photography associations are just so important in our industry, they push us to perform, they encourage us to go one step better each year, they challenge us, inspire us and definitely influence our industry to keep striving for better and better.
Thank you for WPPI and AIPP, these institutions bring the world up close together, my hat off to both and also the DWF.
Here is a movie of my album:
QuickTime Movies takes few minutes to load.

Here is Laura, my Studio Manager receiving the Award on my behalf (Laura also won a couple of Silver Awards herself! We are very proud of her).
Anie and I are in Athens now, taking a few days off after our Santorini workshop. We are on our way to Thessaloniki tomorrow for a seminar there to a group of about 30 photographers, then I move to the UK for my 6 city seminar tour with my very good pal Joe Buissink.
I will post images from our Santorini workshop in a few days, now taking a good break with Anie, I am finally a little relaxed, Page Gallery v4 went out and the response has been very positive. I am sure people will find a bug or two, if so, I will fix them, but over all, Page Gallery v4 was a huge job, it took me over a year to work on it and I think it has delivered a good result.
Afgharisto for now, off to have a Retsina with my wife.
Yervant
Cheers!
Yervant,
Congratulations…this album work could not get anything other than first place….
Have a well derserved break with Anie and keep inspiring us like you do.
There is a frase i love that describes well your work
“Life isn’t about the breaths you take, It’s about the moments that take your breath away”
You can do this with your work…
Have fun in Greece, and keep this blog updated with news and more, always more source of inspiration…
Cheers,
Nuno Figueiredo

Congratulations Yervant … what an absolutely beautiful and incredible album. Its definitely no surprise that you won with it. You constantly inspire me!! :)
Hmmmmm.
I sat and watched it 3 times. All the time amazed, enthralled, inspired, overwhelmed. From the first image that just blew me away with the fantastic gentle blue overlay to that awesome page with fabulous yellow colouring at the end.
I need such influence to keep me aspiring toward great heights of quality and consistency.
Go and enjoy a well earned break and I will watch this just a couple of dozen times more :-)
Thans for PG4

Hi Yervant,
Great to chat with you over coffee & the portfolio review in Vegas. I learnt a lot and I’m delighted for your deserved album accolade. It’s a stunning album!
Ciao!

Yervant, I saw this album after the award show at WPPI . I was at Garner’s room with Bookcrafts and He showed it to us. It was awesome. Congrats on such a prestigious award. You are truly one of the few good people in this industry and I appreciate your willingness to inspire and teach others and your desire to bring up the level of the industry. You are an example to me on how to be a role model in this industry. Even if you received 10th place (which I know you never will) You’d still be one of my hero’s… next to Jesus Christ of course.
FEKICIDADES YERVANT,COMO SIEMPRE EN TU LINEA…..ADMIRO TU TRABAJO!!!SALUDOS DESDE ESPAÑA!!....
Dear Yervant,
It was an amazing opportunity for us the seminar in Thessaloniki.
You show us how to “see” the wedding, how to “create” a shoot, how to “guide” the market, how to “generate” our artistic profile as photographers.
We will try on, but it is sure that being close to a bright personality and professional gives you the opportunity to go further.
Thank you
Efkaristo…
Antonis Seferidis
Way to go, Yervant! You’re an inspiration to us all.

It got me the chicken pocks watching this presentation. The choice of music fits perfectly with the album and romance you are trying to show. I must say you did an outstanding job with this album. And I’ve looked at many designs of yours. But this one, well… I’m almost speechless. The flow of the design, the feel, the atmosphere …. No wonder, this deserves to be number 1. I must add you’ve photographed a very, very beautiful bride (and groom) with an outstanding dress, that’s for sure.
