Thessaloniki - Greece 07
20 May 2007 by: YervantWe fell in love with Thessaloniki, what a beautiful place, I have never seen so many Cafés and Bars all nest to each other, all with individual character, modern to the max and beautiful design and furnishing.
We did a single day seminar to about 30 Greek photographers, I felt like i was doing a United nations presentation, they had an interpreter in a sound proof booth, headphones on each photographer and our entire seminar was translated, jokes and all!
We did a real live shoot with a gorgeous couple then finishing techniques and album layout. I was a little uneasy at first as I was not sure it the translating pace would work, then I was not sure if my style of work turned them on or not, as in Greece, the weddings are around 6-7 pm and straight to reception, no time at all for the fun stuff, but they are keen to change this, they are looking at ways to change the marketplace to learn to allow them more location and fun time and produce story albums lime we are doing in OZ , US and UK.
Our hosts Antonis and Glykeria were the nicest people, so hospitable, I tell you what, Greek hospitality is second to none and what I loved best is that people start night life well after 9pm, just like I like it, all the restaurants, bars cafés are buzzing around 11 pm, and yes on week days, people of all ages are all dressed impeccably to go out at night and enjoy life, the key is , they really know how to ENJOY LIFE!!!, No rushing, no stress, no worries, quality of life is priority and people are more relaxed. I think i will retire in Thessaloniki.
Here are some pics from our Thessaloniki experience.

Hi Yervant!
I totally agree with you about Thessaloniki, it’s a marvelous place!
It also happens to be the city i was born and where i lived for 33 years.
I am actually wondering if and when you might plan a trip/lecture to Stockholm, Sweeden! We can better english and we are already in the style you photograph! And we really love this style!
Just a pity though that we did not know about the course in Thessaloniki in advance (as we knew about Santorini).
Looking forward to meeting you /taking part in some of your courses.
Cheers! / Georgios
