Santorini 2007

24 May 2007 by: Yervant

From all over the world to Santorini (Greece) !

We had an Amazing Week!

Santorini is truly beautiful, I had never been there before and can’t wait to get back. The landscape is ready made for perfect postcards, no one can take a bad picture there, (except maybe the Japanese tourist we saw with Camera, tripod and Flash towards the sunset ) !

Our group was formed from very diverse destinations, backgrounds and experiences, all the way from Hong Kong, Australia, USA,UK, Spain, France, South Africa and also from other parts of Greece.

Anie and I become very attached to our participants, this time, Anie did not hold back her tears on the last day, she cried, they cried, I don’t know, it was a very emotional good-bye, we made some more good friends on this journey.

Over all, it was fun filled and a very smooth week, nothing beats a Greek party though, all that food, drink and plate smashing, Simon (HK) the Greek re created Greek Dancing å la Jackie Chan, but Costas from Corfu put us all in the right steps while Eric ‘The French’ was doing something that we are sure was the Can Can, the Americans were doing something like a barn dance and the English… I’m not sure what they were doing and the South Africans… they have moves! ! As for me, who knows what the hell I was doing but I think they thought I was dancing!!! At the end, it all meshed and a great night was had by all.

Here are some of my shots….

    Yervant….

    One word…..amazing…...

Congratulations…hope i could attend every one of your workshops as i know they all look similar…but the experience we get from being in a such group with people from around the world with different cultures…just makes all workshos different…and your work is truly Art and gives hearing you speak or seeing you shoot in the end resumes to Inspiration..

    All the best…

Such gorgeous models in those beautiful clothes at such a fantastic location and with plenty of time will of course generate stunning images. However, a far cry from the reality of a real life wedding where its often rushed and not to mention that the bride just may be over weight, un-photogenic and wearing one of those cheap wedding dresses that fits her like a potato sack such as I had on Saturday :O

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if weddings were all like out of a dream :) www.gordonjovicphotography.com

    Gordon,

Burn down the edges, add a gausian blur and she’ll be good to go! :o)

I was in Santorini only a couple of months ago on my honeymoon. That place is a dream! Looking at your photos made my heart beat faster with anticipation of seeing that place again. Hopefully, next time I’ll get to actually stay there for more than 6 hours.

Here are a few that I took while I was there:

    So fun!!!

Thanks for sending the pic of your table, Anie, and for the great update on Yervant’s pics from Santorini…wow! Love to see the way HE shot things there and how he touches them up. That just makes it all complete! We are still thriving on that experience and talk about it almost daily. Thank you for all the wonderful friendships we made and for teaching us so much. We love you all and hope you are doing great!
